The letters keep rolling and Jen has a lot of fun reading on her hands.

Here are some more letters:

I saw your article in this month's issue of Skiing and have to admit, I am very intrigued since it's hard to find an attractive woman skier. I've come to the realization lately that my future wife should be better at me in skiing. Now, I have only been skiing a few years, but on my first day I was skiing through the trees in Killington and have excelled tremendously. I love the chase and the actually gives me the opportunity to become a better skier having someone push me to new limits. Then it can be your turn to keep up at happy hour! I like a little give and take, makes things interesting.

Now, unfortunately I do live on the flattest island in the northeast, Long Island. So when I'm not traveling around the world for work as a management consultant I can be found up at Stowe skiing with the locals. I'm the only one at my company that does not live in NYC, but I like my space and quiet which my few visits to Sunday River have shown me more of the same. I'm unsure where my life will lead me, but skiing will always be a central part of it and hope to move north soon...very north and hopefully very soon. And if I do start to blow out my knees, there's still nothing greater than standing atop a mountain, skiing or not. Though chances are that I'll have to be drunk to hold back the tears from not being able to ski down it! The mountain tranquility and feeling that you are so small in the world is unbeatable, which many of my friends can not understand. Winter comes and my woman is the mountain. No one compares, or at least not yet. Relationships have never worked out to well for me as I am not the typical Long Island boy and well, the girls are definitely in their own world out here. I have not even been able to find one girl that even enjoys skiing; maybe snowboarding, but then who cares right?

So per your requirements, I am 27, have my MBA and am on a career path that many would envy. Unfortunately, there are just as many people with less, that I envy, as they are able to chase the storm and hunt down those powder days! I'm young, energetic and driven to succeed in life. Very few things actually annoy me and I live a very stress free life. I find that most things you can not control, so why worry? I'm depressed when its snowing and I'm stuck in Manhattan, especially lately with the winter we have been having. I've been constantly torn between a great career and creating a quality of life unsurpassed and while I would enjoy what I am doing, I am not doing what I love.

I started 2009 off cat skiing in Whistler on a powder day and when I left I thought it may have been all down hill from there (no pun intended) coming back to the east coast. Until I picked up this month's Skiing Magazine and now am wondering if it can only get better. Jen, I'd love to take the trip up to Sugarloaf and meet you. If at the very least just to ski and see if YOU can beat me!! Let me know what you think. I've attached a picture as well to help make up your mind. Hope to hear from you soon!

I live in Seattle. What the heck is the guy from Seattle doing writing to the girl in Maine? Well Maine holds a special place in my heart and you might too so I thought what the heck? What could be better than meeting a pretty girl while skiing while in Maine? Gagging yet? I am. But seriously I grew up spending the summers in Maine where my grandmother lived (and still meet the family there each summer) and then spent 4 years of college there frequenting that windy ice capped loaf of a mountain. Unable to find a job that excited me in Portland I looked west... really far west and now make some money sitting at a desk during the week so I can go play in the mountains on the weekends patrolling, teaching avalanche safety, and just getting in as many turns as I can.

I'd gladly fly out there to spend a weekend skiing. And maybe you'll convince me to move back closer to my family. Crazy? Maybe, but why not take a chance and have some fun in life? At the very least wouldn't it be a great story to say some guy flew 6,000 miles across the country and back for a date with you to go skiing for a day?

Oh and I'm 28 and would like to think I satisfy all your requirements but that's definitely asking a lot from any guy so no guarantees.

Dear Jen Winslow from Maine,

I have no idea how you got Skiing Magazine to publish your ad, but I have to give it to you - you're good.

So, I meet your requirements and I hope you'll choose me because I promise you an awesome day, a friendship, and possibly (hopefully) more.

1. Age 27 - 35. I was born on December 18th, 1980. Which is awesome because my old man takes me and my kid brother skiing every year on the weekend on or between our birthdays. He is 12/13/86. This year we skiied Okemo, and with the huge dump the week before, it was a-w-e-s-o-m-e. Although I prefer rural NH skiing to posh VT villages, the mountain was beautiful and the town was welcoming.

2. Funny. I made not-my-uncle George laugh at the top of Jay Peak -32F. Enough said. But maybe not enough. I find the simplest things funny and believe laughter is truly the best medicine.

3. Smart. Every night I sync up dinner and Jeopardy. Depending on the catagories, I probably get 12-18 questions right. That may not seem like a lot of right questions out of the 61 total, but I have random knowledge. This is not to be confused with the kind of knowledge that one figures out, because I stink at Wheel of Fortune and puzzles in general.

4. Driven. I am currently attending Graduate School one night a week (Thursdays), finishing up classes in August. After I complete my thesis, I will be walking in January 2010 with a Masters in Management. I graduated NU in '03, Finance. After graduate school I hope to employ my Finance skills at something for the people - i.e. State or Local job that handles the people's money, ethically.

5. Trustworthy. I will go to the ends of the earth for the people I love. I will then go to the other end of the earth to make sure the people I originally went to the end of the earth for doesn't wind up there again.

6. Creative. I make my own Christmas cards out of construction paper and glitter. Specifically, I make white snowflakes then paste them on with sticky glue. I also make up my own words to popular tunes and sing them profusely.

7. Stylish. (but not too much). Yes, I am somewhat stylish. Quasi-stylish if you will. You will have to see this one for yourself, because I cannot quite explain it. A friend of mine once said casual, with a hint of hip-hop, but I didn't agree.

8. Crazy about Maine. This is where the honesty comes in - I've only been to Maine once, and not to ski. I went to Bar Harbor with my parents and ate lobster for lunch and dinner every day for three days. We went to Cadillac Mountain and hiked the reservation some. It was beautiful and I've vouched to go back. The best part about that trip was that it was during the infamous blackout to which we were immune from the scorching heat and choas, at least for the weekend. I want to ski the 'Loaf this year, as well as Sunday River. Maybe one will be with you, and if not, well, I'll tell you about it somehow.

9. Crazy about Skiing. I love to ski. I absolutely love to ski. I could write up with credentials, places, experiences, and what not - but that's just not fair to the sport. Being outside, on skis, is passion. It's what I want to do every weekend. It's how I want to retire. I just love to ski. If I couldn't ski, I'd ski. And, if I still couldn't ski, I'd find a way to ski. You ever see those people on the chairs or bikes? They love to ski. It's all about the snow.

Tall Order Served.

So, ski with me. Find out more about each other. Ski the East together. Let's Turn and Burn.

Maine... the end of the earth, maybe not. But I will follow.

Hi there,

Ok, so this is a bit weird but what the heck. I'm a 35 year old SWM who is in a similar spot in my life. I just broke off my latest relationship attempt a week and a half ago due to the SIU factor (Skier Interference Unit) so I can relate. I have missed very few weekends at the loaf over the past 10 years and my cocktail hour lasts most of the night. During the winter skiing is what gets me through the work week and then changes to mountain biking during the summer. I live in Portland but grew up in Bath (where I still frequent to enjoy boating on the rivers during the summer). I'm a bit of a tech geek by day but leave that at the door when I get out of work. Anyway, I'm not expecting much out of this but if Jen is up for a good time count me in.

Best regards,

Hey Jen-

I have to say, everything else aside, just throwing down the gauntlet like you’ve done here is a pretty awesome move. Oh, and daring anyone to keep up, utterly bad ass, well played. Girls with a passion for skiing are entirely too few and far between. I guess I could launch into some sappy cliché about how such a beautiful girl shouldn’t have any problem finding a cool guy, but then I lived in Tahoe for eight years and I’m well aware of the staggering male population of drunken douchebaggery that I’m fairly certain exists anywhere near a ski hill, so I understand.

So...about me...well, I’m a leo, I enjoy cheap poetry and long walks on the beach...no wait, hang on. I’m a telemarker, I blame my parents.

I live in Boulder and I’ve never really skied back east. I think I’ve skied just about everywhere else, but not back east. I know, I know, I’ll take my shaming. When you grow up out west you get used to people from out east coming west to ski, not the other way around. So I want to switch it up, I want to come east, I want to know how salmon feel. So please (this is the part where I’m down on my knees begging, pathetic I know) let me come ski back east, let’s hang out and make some turns, it’ll be fun, as long as you can keep up.

I recently noticed that Sunday River had a mobile website which has current lift and trail stats. Does Sugarloaf have anything like this? I think it would be quite useful.   Ethan?
