I am interning with the Maine Center for Economic Policy in Augusta (see, I work for the man too!) - but I am just finishing up my last project with them today! So next week I will be living up at the mtn full-time again, which I am stoked for. Come spring, I'm either gonna take a position with Ameriprise Financial Planners or move to Chile and teach skiing down there. hahaha - decisions, decisions.
Hahahaha - no, I don't avoid the weekend warriors! There's no room to be smug on the best mountain in the East. I was able to ski Friday, Sunday, and Monday but I had orientation on Saturday so I missed some turns. As you know, Sunday's hurricane was a bummer, but Monday was pretty epic so I am happy about that. Also, I think they are gonna get close to a foot of fresh pow with this latest storm, so I'm hoping to finish up my internship quick and get back up there ASAP!! I was looking for your green coat, but I obviously didn't find you - so next time you are up look for me. When I'm not working up there, I ski in a bright orange coat with a Sugarloaf/usa patch on my arm (oh, and green pants!). Hopefully we'll get the chance to make some turns together soon! Until then, take care and keep trekking up for the weekends!!
you should be able to click the little edit button in the upper right corner of the "my photos" box and choose whether you want to display albums, thumbnails, or a slideshow
Are you guys coming up this weekend? Give me shout if you are. The old banners are actually being used as tarps, believe it or not. You probably wouldn't have wanted it anyway - it's 11x17 feet. Not really much you can do with that....
Haha - no no, i'm not trying to diss. Hats off to you for driving all the way up every weekend after probably a long week of hell - it really can't be easy! ( i know, so that's why I avoid it) Sorry that you work for the man. Bummer. At least you got the Sugarloaf Facebook to keep you entertained!
I have a question on how far down the mountain phase 1 will go. The map shows it all the way to Snowbrook /lower part of Woody Creek. Is this really where it will end or will it somehow end onto the Stubb's Glase condo access trail?

Ethan,
Can you please clarify how access will be gained to the new gladed area? I understand that you can access most of it via the top of King Pine, but what about at the bottom? My understanding is that for now is that this area is accessible by…
Anyone up there ever thought about putting a disc golf course on the mountain for use in the summer time. Alot of ski resorts are doing this now and sugarloaf would be a great place for a course. Just an idea wondering what everyone else thought abo…
