Hi Everyone,
Fred here. I'm an avid snowboarder, and though my wife and I live in NH, we drive up every weekend in the winter to be at Sugarloaf. A former member of the terrain park grooming crew, I really enjoy park riding. My favorite riding however is over on Kingpine, hitting up the various glades and steeps, as well as trying to escape the crowds in untapped powder stashes! You can frequently find me riding with Norton, Ethan, my brother Sick Nick, the Park Rangers (Isaac and Chris), Ryan, and of course my beautiful wife Tresa. My favorite time to ride is heavy overcast skies, and dumping snow. Bluebird is nice, but for me you can't beat the feeling of riding in a storm.

Hey man, They may not be yours, but there was a set of keys tacked to the bulletin board at the bottom of the snubber lift on Sunday. I don't remember what it looked like, but they had a big sign saying lost keys pointing to them. Hope this helps. -…

The plan that Mtn Creek Park is using seems really good. I think it would be good to put something like this in place for the bigger parks at Sugarloaf.

The bag burger is very good, but the two steps above that are a Norton Burger (bag burger with 2 chicken tenders), or the Fred burger (Norton burger with 2 strips of pepperoni on it). They aren't "officially" on the menu, but the Norton burger is or…

Good job Ethan (and your team). I think this is progressive and forward thinking. I realize that not everyone has an iphone or blackberry (or whatever else), but a lot of people do, and it's pretty easy to just pull up the website, or use an app to…

I think this is a great move on the Mtn's part. Nothing worse than standing in line, and someone blows smoke in your face, or you have to smell their stinky cigarette's. That, and I don't want bits of ash burning a hole in my nice gear. I understand…

What it was like to live the dream at Sugarloaf for 6 months after college!

Reading Lizzy's post reminded me of a very special time in my life, the time directly after graduating college, before I had a job in the field of my degree. I spent 6 months in the winter of 06/07 living/working/breathing Sugarloaf, and it was one of the most special and fun times of my entire life.

I have to say that taking a little break after college before moving on to the "real world" was a great thing for me. I graduated college at Thanksgiving 06 (at 22 years old), and had been looking… Continue

I have a question on how far down the mountain phase 1 will go. The map shows it all the way to Snowbrook /lower part of Woody Creek. Is this really where it will end or will it somehow end onto the Stubb's Glase condo access trail? Mtnbrew

Ethan, Can you please clarify how access will be gained to the new gladed area? I understand that you can access most of it via the top of King Pine, but what about at the bottom? My understanding is that for now is that this area is accessible by…

Does anyone know what the impact to the cross-country trails and the dog trail above Snowbrook will be? Will we still be able to hike Burnt in Winter?

Anyone up there ever thought about putting a disc golf course on the mountain for use in the summer time. Alot of ski resorts are doing this now and sugarloaf would be a great place for a course. Just an idea wondering what everyone else thought abo…
