Hi Everyone,
Fred here. I'm an avid snowboarder, and though my wife and I live in NH, we drive up every weekend in the winter to be at Sugarloaf. A former member of the terrain park grooming crew, I really enjoy park riding. My favorite riding however is over on Kingpine, hitting up the various glades and steeps, as well as trying to escape the crowds in untapped powder stashes! You can frequently find me riding with Norton, Ethan, my brother Sick Nick, the Park Rangers (Isaac and Chris), Ryan, and of course my beautiful wife Tresa. My favorite time to ride is heavy overcast skies, and dumping snow. Bluebird is nice, but for me you can't beat the feeling of riding in a storm.

One thing that I'm really looking forward to with the Gondola is the fact that on a pow pow day, when they open the Gondola the crowds will disperse and have their choice of untouched powder in all directions. Usually it's like one lift that opens...
Wow, Seth's speech was excellent. I really hope this happens. Props to him for standing up for change, rather than wanting to wait around, or being content with something that could be improved so much.

yup trail head is the start
I was so close its silly, i parked there just figured there would be some kind of trail sign or I missed it which is also possible
noticed its not on the amc maps
I'm not a huge hiker, so I don't know exactly what trail head means, but if you mean the start of the trail (my best guess), drive up past the fitness center, and when you're going up the hill with all the condo roads, take a left onto Bigelow Mou...
nice pics thanks for sharing them, there are a lot of nice hikes up there. We tried to do burnt but had trouble locating the trail head. We are going up again in a couple of weeks and may hit it then.

What it was like to live the dream at Sugarloaf for 6 months after college!
Reading Lizzy's post reminded me of a very special time in my life, the time directly after graduating college, before I had a job in the field of my degree. I spent 6 months in the winter of 06/07 living/working/breathing Sugarloaf, and it was one of the most special and fun times of my entire life.

i dont think they can really disconnect them. they just need to make it so the traffic is directed AWAY from landings and knolls. and a hip transfer or C box could do that nicely.. then it could all be jumps on one side, rails on the other, with a...

when will be the next snowmaking window? is thanksgiving a possibility?
they are guna disconnect them so that they can both be more full terrain parks on their own. any time theres meging and jumplines togethere there are problems... but this years park is guna be one of the best ever im so stoked for this years park
