Sugarloaf has personality. We have friendlier people, better glades, less assholes, and waaay more OB terrain and secret stuff.

Big deal the River has one trail open from the mid station up. Truth be told Killington has seven trails open and two lifts. There is one thing Sugarloaf needs to do to be the best resort in New England. and that is pull out one of the double runn...

Re-check your rankings this year, bud. Sugarloaf beat out Sunday River in Ski Magazine...AGAIN...with our "broken lifts", "long lift lines", and our "crowded torn up mid-mountain". WHEW!!!... maybe Jason should ski here on some day other than a S...

I think the only thing the loaf is missing is a "Winer" tab on the top of the Community Page. That way all the winers can easily direct themselves there and wine away while the rest of us enjoy good conversation with other skiiers alike - keeping ...

Grooming - Behind the Scenes

When the sun starts to mosey on behind the mountain and the lifts shut down for the day, most of us either head home and rest our sore legs or celebrate another day on the hill with a few frosty beverages. We relax, get some sleep, and then head out the next day to find a smooth blanket of s… Continue

Down to the Nitty Gritty

Not sure if you all have noticed the little countdown on the left side of the Community homepage, but we're down to just 17 days left until we open for the season. That, my friends, is exciting.

Opening day plans are similar to what we saw last year. Tote Road will be our firs… Continue

The Run-Down with Ski Shop Manager John Byrne

Is it possible to be a ski-bum and live in Florida at the same time? Apparently the answer is yes, and you can just ask Ski Shop Manager John Byrne if you don't believe it. John managed a ski-shop in sunny Florida (that is a serious fact) before relocating back to Maine three years ago to take over the reigns of the Suga… Continue

Capital Improvements Blog - Gondi Line photos and Boyne Beds

Fall has come in rather quickly here in the mountains, and colors have really popped over the past few days. Not quite peak yet, but we're not far off. Homecoming, anyone?

Projects continue to move along on the mountain, with the new Peavey valve box nearing completion and the ne… Continue

Capital Improvements Blog - More snowmaking...

With the new line in place on Gondi Extension crews shifted focus this week to Peavey Crosscut and tying the new mainline into Sidewinder, Narrow Guage, Boardwalk, and Lower Winters Way. Basically what this means is a whole lotta welding and a whole lotta pipe pulling. Tools of choice include two welding trucks, an excavator, and a little tank-like beast we like to call "The Bomb." Once these lines are tied in construction will begin on the new valve box, and then we'll start welding hydrants in… Continue

How about those big, about 8 foot long propane tanks. You can set them up in so many different ways. You can stall on them, tap them, and slide them.

Option B is the way to go!! Install a gondola up the old Gondi line, or up West Mtn, then bang a left at Bullwinkle’s and head to the summit. If you are worried about making the non expert skiers happy, Boyne already has a gondola which flips the...
