So yesterday some friends and I hiked out to Adrenaline Rush, which was amazing. After a crazy run, we went to the Salsa Shack, only to find that someone had taken a knife to the sign and carved "ye olde TACO SHARK". This kinda sucks, not that a name is really THIS important, but its kind of like carving over a piece of history, right? And later that day I actually heard some kids calling the "taco shark". I might be making a big deal over nothing, but why would anyone change the sign?
At least it was an effing sick day.

It is was it is. that whole area is a time forgotten. There was nothing like that in the east when that area was looked upon. It's too bad, the mountain had a real chance to do something with it over there years ago, but it just sat there. Locals tried, but it was caboshed. Just pushed away buy mgmt. Experts hill, encourage it? Plus if we want to change the name, we will, we built it. DPB RULES 10 years later! adios!!!! DBP! DBP! DBP! DBP!

Did YOU build it? Because it wasnt built by the mountain; it was built by locals who know the mountain. Ive met one of the guys who built it, and I think if they wanted to change the name they had the right, but thats obviously not the case.

yes i was out there this past monday and whoever changed it in my mind was not one of the builders.

Well, I'd like to think I haven't forgotten. I bet you remember the sheep. Remember the sled? Maybe we ought to revisit that. I'm just saying.

Doesn't matter what some kids carved into it; those who know/remember will call it the Salsa Shack.

It will forever and always be the Salsa Shack to this loafer and all who ski/ride with me... What is in a name? would a shack by any other name be as awesome? to me its not the name its knowing where it is, and getting there that is important...

just make a replacement sign, its not the orig but at least people who are just learning of it wont call it the taco shark.

Bring the sign back. was out there today and its gone. Hard work went into building that please bring it back. And to everyone else, please take your trash back your condo or house, we dont bring trash to your house and just leave it. PACK IN-PACK OUT !!!!!!

Its not like were bringing trash out there, were honoring the original name, so quit your bitching.

Ya the sign is made of trashbags, soda bottles and cigarettes. Its completely biodegradable. calm down man its made of wood...wood rots...turns to soil... natural process.

it was not directed just at you, please don't be so aggressive with your wording. Do your parents know you talk like that? It was directed to everybody that uses the shack. thank you

I didnt mean to be "aggressive", and I totally agree about the trash issue, but its a wooden sign. It wont in anyway hurt the environment or the integrity of the shack.

I have a question on how far down the mountain phase 1 will go. The map shows it all the way to Snowbrook /lower part of Woody Creek. Is this really where it will end or will it somehow end onto the Stubb's Glase condo access trail? Mtnbrew

Ethan, Can you please clarify how access will be gained to the new gladed area? I understand that you can access most of it via the top of King Pine, but what about at the bottom? My understanding is that for now is that this area is accessible by…
