Just got the word that we have a handful of guns running right now up on Tote Road! Snowmakers are working on flushing out lines and setting up equipment around the mountain, and they plan to run a number of guns for a good portion of the day. The real snowmaking push will get underway next week as weather permits.

Check back for pics later today.

Only 15 days to go!

its funny how people knock "SUNDAY RIVER" as that is the correct title for the resort that continually outranks sugarloaf in all areas, and then they ski its snow because it opened first then run their mouth on this. What sunday river does not have is a superquad always breaking down, incessantly long lift lines, and a crowded torn up mid mountain.

Congrats on the loaf getting their act together and starting the process to open for the season, but lets not be too quick to mouth off about the resort that opened FIRST three years in a row, besides we all know if SL shut its doors tomorrow lots of sorry "loafer die hards" would be at the river the next day talking trash about the loaf.

Lol, even the skier population cant remain true anymore!

Enjoy the winter

Ok Jay you win and your "resort" wins. Now please go away. No need to make your point this way.

Re-check your rankings this year, bud. Sugarloaf beat out Sunday River in Ski Magazine. Now, considering my pass lets me go to both places, I'll ski SR on occasion; usually it's because an unexpected opportunity to ski presented itself for 4 hours. However, about 95% of the time I'll drive the extra distance to Kingfield. If any mountain is going to be seeing more of me this year it'll be Saddleback.

I have a question on how far down the mountain phase 1 will go. The map shows it all the way to Snowbrook /lower part of Woody Creek. Is this really where it will end or will it somehow end onto the Stubb's Glase condo access trail? Mtnbrew

Ethan, Can you please clarify how access will be gained to the new gladed area? I understand that you can access most of it via the top of King Pine, but what about at the bottom? My understanding is that for now is that this area is accessible by…

Does anyone know what the impact to the cross-country trails and the dog trail above Snowbrook will be? Will we still be able to hike Burnt in Winter?
