dont take this as hate, but its been way too long to not have a big park set up with at least a few jumps bigger than 10 feet (or whatever the jumps are now).

i was at attitash, a mountain not really known for its park, before christmas and they already had a SICK setup (and they basically have no terrain park budget...). i dont really know why you guys are waiting... the jumps in the boardercross course are bigger than the park jumps (i mean, even gapping the rollers gives you more air time than the jumps in the park...). i know it takes a lot of work (good friends with park crew and a park groomer at attitash so i know what goes into building a park), but all of the rails set up now are way too short (well we really only got ONE rail), the boxes are set up poorly, the hip is not set up well at all either and is increasingly icy... the bonks are fun, but lets be real, its been way too long to not have a real jump line and real rails set up.

again, this is not supposed to be hateful, but its becoming rather annoying driving an hour and fifteen minutes every time i wanna ski park and come back to the park where everything is small, icey, and IMO, not set up too well...

they haven't started.. i think the superpipe is next on the list

Snowmaking is scheduled to get underway on Haywire on Thursday, weather/conditions permitting. If all goes well, with temps like they are now it shouldn't take too long to pile up in there. The Superpipe is also nearly complete, and Skybound is scheduled to open on Saturday. we'll be posting updates and photos to the STP site.

I'm pretty sure I remember Sugarloaf winning best terrain park in the country in Skiing Magazine or one of 'em in like 1997. Back when the hits were huge and the consequences dire.
