What happened yesterday/today with the snow plowing on the mountain?
I arrived at the mountain last night around 9 and I was greeted on the access road with at least 10 inches of unplowed snow that was rutted up so bad that I was forced to zig zag up the road from side to side to make it up.
When I drove to the parking lots this morning around 8:30, parking lot D (below first aid) was plowed out but the parking lot right above it, C, was not. This forced you to walk through slop of water and snow (more water). If you were not wearing high boots, you were doomed to get wet feet. The water even made it through my ski boots which provided for a great part of the day.
Did Boyne not budget for plowing in Novemeber?
I was lucky enough to get the parking lot below the 60 minute one, but the other parking lots were not plowed. It was not plowed on the way up to Quad either, had to plow through wet snow with my boots. I didn't get too wet though. I only saw them plowing next to the base lodge at about 12:00.
On tuesday night both of Fenwick's large plows broke down, which was the main reason for the plowing issues. Fenwick is the subcontractor for Sugarloaf responsible for plowing our roads and parking lots. These issues have been addressed and you can expect considerable improvements in the plowing for the next storm that comes our way. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
i dont think they can really disconnect them. they just need to make it so the traffic is directed AWAY from landings and knolls. and a hip transfer or C box could do that nicely.. then it could all be jumps on one side, rails on the other, with a...
