Hi all,

We're in the process of booking bands for Reggae Fest in April and have a few in the works already, but we thought it would be fun to open this thread up for suggestions for bands. So go ahead and start tossing out ideas - could be for headliners or daytime acts. We generally have in the neighborhood of 10 bands total, so the more suggestions we get the better. Have fun....

Hey, I know a pretty good band from my area. They are not reggae, more hard rock, but if want to check them out for some other time,

They don' t need much. Maybe just lift tickets or something.

If your interested, let me know, 3 of them live 5 minutes away

We like VIBEWISE. They are true reggae. We were disappointed in last years beach selection as one of those bands didn't play a single reggae song. They were more like rock and roll. It is a reggae festival? right? Maybe you could find a band that plays old classic reggae, you know, one that throws in some Bob Marley and Peter Tosh and some Toots and the Mayats. I hear Toots still plays concerts. Get him! I saw him in NH at a brewery concert, he was amazing, he still has it for an old guy. What a classic!

There are a lot of good reggae bands out of Vermont. Check there.

Vibewise was moved to the PM slot last year in the King Pine room and we could not attend as we were busy with a party of our own. Bummer. So, bring back Vibewise to the beach and if you get Toots, I will buy tickets for all of my friends who attend the jerk chicken party.

Another great idea, serve jamaican food at the festival...... Jerk chicken, rice and peas, beef patsies.....if I give you any more ideas you will have to hire me as a consultant:)

RESPECT, everyting Irie

In the past few years i've had the opportunity to meet Westbound Train a few times throughout New England, and then to my surprise they were o the line up for Reggae a couple years back. I believe they played Widowmaker Saturday night, and then Sunday morning outside. They have a great Ska/Soul/Reggae sound and should def come back! I know if invited, they would make the trek up again.
