Sugarloaf really should consider bringing this idea back, even if you have to charge 5 bucks. It was the main draw for me and my family last year.

It's still uncertain whether or not we'll be able to offer lift rides at Homecoming this year. Earlier in the summer we were informed by state inspectors that the SuperQuad is not certified to download guests or to upload them without skis. We're working with the inspectors to make modifications to the ramps that will meet their requirements for uploading without skis, and hope to have them in place by Homecoming. We'll certainly keep you up to date on any developments before homecoming weekend.

Definately, I was looking forward to that again this year.

Yes, without the SuperQuad rides, there really aren't that many fun things to do.

I was just about to ask the same thing.. That was the reason i was going to go to homecoming.

as usual, the Great state of Maine sticks its' inept nose somewhere it don't belong and ruins it for everybody

You have to love the logic here. The State allows folks to strap on stiff boards with sharp mettle edges to ride a lift and zoom down the mountain at +30 miles per hour, but they do not think we are not bright enough to step on an off a detachable quad. Thank goodness we have the great nanny state of Maine looking out for us.

you kind of do have to love the logic. charilift rides at homecoming is pretty much the direct opposite of what that lift was designed for. Lifts are way more than just cables, chairs, and motors. heaven forbid Sugarloaf looks out for the well being of its valued customers by abiding by state inspectors and insurance companies. it would take one wealthy persons grand daughter getting hurt and you would see a lawsuit so big that Sugarloaf would have to make some serious changes...and not for the better.

Ethan,

Any word on the lifts operating?

Thanks!

I have a question on how far down the mountain phase 1 will go. The map shows it all the way to Snowbrook /lower part of Woody Creek. Is this really where it will end or will it somehow end onto the Stubb's Glase condo access trail? Mtnbrew
