Other forecasts are less optimistic, but we can hope, can't we?

Come on up and join me in shredding it!

It says 1-2 inches today and maybe half an inch for the next two days. Not too big of a snowstorm. Well, it's better than nothing!

:D

Hey!

We're getting snow right now at the loaf! Here's a picture I took at about 9:30 this morning or one of the cars in our admin. parking lot:

The snow has picked up a lot since then!

Our forecast calls from an inch today but, from what I see going on outside right now, we could get more than that. I'll keep you posted.

How much do you think we will lose with tomorrows rain?

Also, what kind of winds are predicted? From what I've seen Wednesday looks like another windhold day. :(

From the current Weather Service prediction, pasted in below, it's hard to figure what kind of precip will fall on the mountain tomorrow. The forecast is for the whole area, so it's conceivable that it could stay snow at elevation -- although if there's a temperature inversion, all bets would be off. It certainly doesn't sound like a washout (fingers crossed!).

Today...Snow. Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches. Highs in the mid 20s. South winds around 10 mph. Chance of snow 90 percent.

Tonight...Snow mixing with and changing to rain. Some pockets of freezing rain. Patchy fog after midnight. Total snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. Lows in the mid 20s. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

Wednesday...Rain showers. Snow showers likely in the afternoon. Little or no snow accumulation. Breezy with highs in the upper 30s. West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

It seems like it would have made more sense to shut SQ down on a slow tuesday and put the sheaves on and have less windholds then to leave it for later and have more windholds

Thanks for the update. It's nice to know the highly touted sheeve trains will still be installed. I think last year had less wind than '07/'08 and '080/'09 and but it will be interesting to see if they improve the wind resistance of the SQ. I think…

I hope Ethan can fill us in on this one. Many of my Loafer friends and I are puzzled by this question. Last year this was announced as an improvement for the SQ to make it more likely to run in windy conditions.  Nothing was done and the rumor mill…

I guess "they" read my post. Still nothing official about 2010-11 skiing improvements, though the Zipline and Chairlift rides will help make SL more interesting in the noon-ski season. Also, the Zipline may run in winter too.

Well, the old photo gallery on the left is gone. I'll miss her. It was like that old truck rotting beside the garage. Now that she's gone, you realize you really did love her. In other news: That badge thing is hideous. The default colors are nearl…

Why does this site continue to show pictures from "This is a collection of photos of this year's Capital Improvements in progress." and all the pics are from the summer of 2009. The section is captioned "What's new for 2009-10?" In order to make the…

although it wont have any meaning to many skiers it will attract enthusiasts if there was a hike only gladed area or extreme like area over there. It would create a rage similar to what casablanca did at saddleback if it can be reached with a short…
